1. Cluttered page – If your page is loaded with random content without a simple clear message, you’re going to waste a lot of time burning credits.

2. Not attracting the audience – Most people using traffic exchanges are interested in money-making opportunities. Be creative in ways to capture their attention.

3. Redundant wording/content -If you have a long paragraph of content, it’s probably going to be skipped. The most effective page on a traffic exchange can be read in its entirety in 30 seconds.

4. Not using your own domain name – If you’re promoting a referral link directly on the surf, your signup rate is going to be much lower. You will see dramatically better results with a custom splash pages that contains a link to your referral page.

5. Not sending enough hits – Don’t expect to get results after 100 page views. It’s possible, but you’re much more likely to get results if you can get your page rotated on a continual basis, with many thousands of hits daily.

Anyway today i finally decided that I just had to do it. Merge two of my blogs that really did not need to be separate into one single blog. So I did some quick google search and found various ways of doing this. One of the big suprises for me was how simple it really was when you knew how to…

Here is an example. Lets say I want to merge blog1.example.com and blog2.example.com into one single blog called blog1.example.com (the first example blog)

Ok here we go.

Step 1:

First thing first. Backup everything first. You can do this easily through cPanel or similar hosting panels. The methods vary from host to host. If you need further assistance on this specifically you should ask your hosting provider.

Step 2:

Go to (in this case). blog2.example.com. The blog we want to merge with the first one. Login to the Dashboard of wordpress, click Tools on the left side navigation menu and then Export. Download/Save  the file to your computer and continue to step 3.

Step 3:

Go to (in this example) blog1.example.com, login to the dash board and again go to  Tools, and then Import and select the WordPress format. For me this was located in the bottom of the choices avilabale.

Thats it! Visit your blog, and verify. You might want to go through the categories etc as they are imported as well if you had categories with the same name on both blogs then it creates duplicates. At least it did for me. However that was quickly resolved through the Dashboard.

Following is a short summary:

Free members Multiplier: 1 (same as initial values)
Bonze (new account type): 1.25 (25% more than initial value / free)
Gold: 1.50 (50% more than intitial value / free)
Platinum: 2.0 (100% more than initial value / free).

In addition to this, each upgraded account type startes
with an weekly initial value.

Platinum: 1000.

Here is an example: Personal Splash 1. This page is fully cutomizable except for a couple of words and the graphics. Here are the elements configurable

1: Your Picture
2: Your name
3: Link below your name
4: The text for the link below your name
5: The text below the header is all custom
6: You can add your own banner in the bottom.
7: This is one of the “twists” we added from the default mod. You can change the “header” to target any traffic exchange. No need for 10 or 20 different splashpages.

Example. I’m going to target Jon Olson’s ‘I Love Hits‘ Check out the same page by clicking here.

Take a note of the URL location. Its the same url except for the last part of the URL. Thats the part that targets a specific exchange rather than a generic message.

Its very very simple. The URL to this version of the personal splashpage (there are a couple now and several more coming) is: http://www.247trafficpro.com/splash/personal/psplash1.php?rid=1. The version that Targets ILH is: http://www.247trafficpro.com/splash/personal/psplash1.php?rid=1&site=I%20Love%20Hits.

Its the last part: &site=I%20Love%20Hits that replaces “Traffic Exchange” with “I Love Hits“. It may seem cryptic but let me explain and break it down. Its very simple really.

The personal splashpage will look for the variable ‘site’ and replace the generic “Traffic Exchange” with whatever value you add. The part after ‘site’ might look cryptic, but fair not, this is not something you need to figure out your self. Simply add the default URL to the browser then add the following at the end “&site=What Ever Site Goes Here” (without quotations). The browser will then convert it to something the webserver can read. The webserver needs this info without empty spaces, thats why the webbrowser adds some number and signs. In this case %20 where the spaces are. Anyway, without getting in into more technical things, thats basically it. The URL your browser shows you is the url you submit to the exchange that you are targetting.

There are rare cases where the traffic exchange won’t allow urls with %20 characters and others. Its basically a scripting issue on the traffic exchange, how it handles special chars in the url. In the case of I Love Hits it works perfectly. Now if it wouldn’t work, I would simply write ILoveHits all in one instead. that would solve the problem.

So simply take the personal splashpage url and add “&site=whatever” to the end of the url, and add it to the browser, the browser returns the url you can submit to the traffic exchange, thats it, its now targeting that specific exchange.

If it feels to complex just use the default one, it works as well. We would also like feedback and comments, if its too hard to understand then we might have to look at how we can do it easier .

You now have:

1: Personalized splashpages
2: Rotator

Both of those are “brandable” with your picture and all the information mentioned above.

Branding YOU is one of the most effective and important ways to work the traffic exchanges. One good example I can use is Tony Tezak. He is branding himself and building his list. Thats the very basics of it, and he has been doing it successfully for quite some time.
