Website Hits Delivery – Flow Control

February 3rd, 2012 2 comments

In the past 12 months alone, more than 20000 new members have signed up to 247TrafficPro.com. That’s twenty thousand new members, never in the history of 247TrafficPro.com have we had such a fantastic growth. We deliver 200000 (two hundred thousand) website hits, and millions of ad impressions every single day. The site has grown from a medium to a very large traffic exchange in the last 12 months.

This of course means we’re faced with unique challenges, unique to large exchanges, the past 6 months has been a intensive period development wise to accommodate for the growth and prepare for an even higher growth.

One of the big challenges we faced is the extremely fast hits delivery and the sheer number of hits one single url can receive within 24 hours. In this respect 247TrafficPro.com really is in the top. While all this is good, nothing is worse than receiving 10 hits a URLs a day in my opinion and its been our goal to be a high volume traffic exchange, the challenge lies in the rate the hits are delivered within a few seconds. During peak hours we can deliver several hits a second to the same URL, and this poses potential problems. Many trackers are simply unable to keep up with the problems associated with that.

We’ve had a maximum credits pr hour system where our members can specify the maximum of hits they want to receive within one hour, however, that didn’t solve the extremely fast delivery rate. Say you set this value to 60, meaning you want 60 hits an hour. That’s all fine, and we’ll deliver maximum 60 an hour. The problem is once again, the extremely fast delivery rate because of the high number of surfers we have any time during the day would deliver the website hits within a few short minutes, if even that long. Most trackers would simply not keep up, and delivering hits this fast simply might not be prefered.

Now, let me introduce you to the solution! We have implemented a flow-control system for URLs that have a CPH value! This means, instead of delivering everything as fast as possible, we will now spread the delivery across the hour, resulting in a much more harmonious delivery, that the trackers can keep up with, you’ll also experience a significant increase in unique hits depending on the value you set. Our recommended value is 30.

There are some that would debate if this is good from a branding standpoint, where the argument is that the more the same person sees the ad, the higher the conversion ratio we believe this is solved by simply increasing the CPH value to a high number, or simply leaving CPH to 0. The flow control is ONLY enabled for urls that have a CPH value. For this reason, we have changed our recommendation from having a cph of 0, to 30 for new members/urls.

There is of course no “one solution for all” the key is tracking your results with advertising and adjusting CPH and others accordingly.

This feature is still in beta/early implementation, and we will do adjustments where needed to improve this system. We’ve chosen to go with simplicity for our members and integrated this seamlessly, where the alternative would be to have a separate configuration option for this.

We hope you all enjoy this new benefit, please do report any errors etc. HitLink.com will have a much needed similar feature soon as well.

If your one of those who track your results, check it out, set a CPH value to 15 – 30 and adjust up/down from there, if you feel your receiving website hits to fast and don’t have any CPH value, login and set it to 15 – 30.

Like I mentioned, Flow control has only been added to URLs that have a CPH value for now at least. If this is something you think would benefit URLs with no CPH value, let us know your opinion on this.

Simplifying URL management – Basic

November 17th, 2011 2 comments

I wanted to share some tips with you to day, I’m sure most of you who use Traffic Exchanges for marketing face this problem where you have to login to X number of sites to update/add URLs. There are several ways to solve this and simplify this, in this article we’ll focus on how you can use our in-house tool on 247TrafficPro.com to resolve this.

247TrafficPro.com has a built in URL rotators with a couple good features that sets it apart at least from the default rotator built into sites. First of all 247TrafficPro.com‘s URL rotator has good reputation and you won’t have issued with it being approved on other sites, unless that site has a general ban on rotators. All urls are screened before they are allowed into our URL rotator. If a bad URL was to enter rotation we take swift action.

Furthermore our URL rotator allows you to group urls, so you effectively have multiple rotators if you wish to group or categorize the URLs. Finally, its smart, meaning, as an example, it will detect if your trying to promote HitLink.com’s splashpage on hitlink.com (or any other exchange), and filter away that page so you don’t end up wasting your credits.

So check out our URL rotator and simplify your URL management today :) . Add your URLs in one place and have them updated everywhere you use it. There are always room for improvement, example, individual URL stats would be nice, we would like to hear from you, our valued members on what you think, what would you like to see improved on our URL rotators? Or any other part of the site.

Finally, our site HitLink.com of course has a smart URL rotator as well. What HitLink.com lacks is the gategory/group system, if you don’t need that part, HitLink.com‘s rotator is actually better suited for you, as it offers some other benefits, one of them a rotator with even higher reputation as every page is manually screened on HitLink.com, the ability for viewers to report individual pages within the rotator is appreciated by other TE admins  aswell.

Whether your new or old in the game, if you haven’t discovered the URL rotators yet, then do login and check them out! Don’t forget to comment and let us know what you would like to see improved. Would an individual URL trackers/stats for urls within the rotator be something of benefit for you etc.

All of this is of course 100% free. All though upgraded members can rotate more URLs as on of their many benefits.

October 2011 Update

October 2nd, 2011 No comments

We leave behind us the month of September, a month that has been of significance in many ways. It was the busiest month in 247TrafficPro.com, we generated more website hits than any other month, we hit records after record. However all was not good. What happened on 27th changed a lot. While what happened itself was very bad, I believe we came out stronger and are much better prepared for the rapid growth we have had this year so far, and the even faster growth the coming weeks, months and years. Our script is having a complete review and the out come will be one of the most robust sites out there.

Since the changed being done are extensive, it is likely that you might encounter short outages as they are implemented. We are trying to make them as seamless as possible.

Back when I decided that Traffic Exchanges would be my future business. I actually started two traffic exchanges with a 2 months gap between them. As i analyzed this market, I realized there where two sub categories within the Traffic Exchange industry. I decided to launch one in each. Quickly did I realize how apart they where and how much one side thought the whole concept of how the other side worked was flawed. I decided back in 2007 to keep them completely separated because of this.

What I am referring to is one manual and one auto traffic exchange. Over the years, I discovered that the auto world was very unprofessional and unorganized, I implemented strategies I had learned in the manual world and applied them to the auto world. Results, the auto TE become one of the worlds largest and most profitable auto hits TE on the planet. I kept debating myself, battling, mind wrestling, Whether or not I should continue in both niches. Time went I was 100% committed and dedicated to success, and today both are top class within their sub category.

Anyway, as things look now, the way 247TrafficPro.com is growing, I have realized I cannot continue the way I have. Traffic Exchanges require a lot of time and energy, I want to focus mine, but was sentimental about the situation and could not decide. I have now decided that I will slowly pull out of the Auto Hits sub niche so I can focus on 100% on the Manual TE world. I will either co-own auto site for a while, or hand it over to a new owner completely. Won’t happen over night, but this is now my long term plan, unless something unexpected happens.

The reasons are many, but mainly the fact that I enjoy the manual world more, and see a lot more potential there. I’ve created a world class auto, changed the auto industry for ever,  I now want to focus on my manual TEs. They offer more challenges, more potential growth, more fun. I believe if can focus my energy on the manual sites I can create something fantastic that will benefit each member. This is like mentioned something that has been on my mind for quite some time. Around a year in fact.

To avoid confusion. This means that in the future my focus will be on 247TrafficPro.com and HitLink.com. I will either co-own or handover complete ownership of 247AutoHits.com. I have great plans for 247TrafficPro.com and HitLink.com, it will be a great times ahead for all our members! :)

Regarding your account at 247TrafficPro.com

September 27th, 2011 11 comments

We are receiving hundreds of tickets, emails, PMs and more. There seems to be a confusion as to if we sent the email or someone else. The email was in fact sent by the hacker, there is no reason to follow the instructions in the email, it is unfortunate but the hacker already posted all the information he threatened to post before he even sent the email. We have contacted the hosting providers he used and had the pages content removed.

Deleting your account does not make anything safer, I am specifically mentioning this as we’re now receiving a lot of tickets where members are realizing it was a mistake to delete the account and that it did not change anything security wise. What you should do is:

1: Make sure no other account, specially important accounts like emails, paypal and other accounts do NOT have the same password as you have on any traffic exchange, not only 247TrafficPro.com. The exploit the hacker used, is available on the majority of traffic exchanges ou there.

2: If you have not yet received your new password from us, log in to 247TrafficPro.com and change your password now by visiting the Edit Profile page.

3: If you have received a password from us, or when you do receive a new password, log in and change it to one you prefer. Edit Profile.

4: It is now ok to use the site normally, our coders will over the next week do a complete security review and address any detected vulnerability.

We now have enough information to hand over to the authorities as well.

I want to thank all the good admins, members, friends out there who helped during this period. I have been on this issue for 14 hours straight now, its time for me to take a little break, I will return later on, mean while our staff are of course available and working on any remaining issue. More info will be posted as well.

In regards to recent events

September 27th, 2011 2 comments

This is just a quick update in regards to recent events. We are fully aware of what happened our traffic exchanges. Goes without saying this has our highest priority, all our resources have been put in. Our hosting provider has this as the TOP priority, I have been on the phone with them all morning. We understand that you may have a lot of questions on your mind, rest assured we are doing anything we can, and we are confident that we will find the person behind. Legal actions will be taken, necessary authorities will be contacted.

There is one important action needed from your side. If you share your password on 247AutoHits.com and 247TrafficPro.com with ANY other site, you need to change this immediately. This should of course always be different anyway.

The instructions to delete your accounts can of course be ignored, it serves no purpose to do that now.

Please re-visit for further updates as they become available.

UPDATE:

We’re still working on this, and will send a new update later on, including a new and secure password for each of your accounts. This will prevent unauthorized access. We are awaiting a report from our hosting company.

UPDATE:

We now believe we have a verifiable theory on what happened. We will send another updated later on today. I know I’m very short with updates. It is unfortunately necessary for security reasons.

UPDATE:

We have now identified the vulnerabilities in the script that where abused. We have two coders working on this, most critical parts have been resolved, and we will hopefully have the rest fixed as soon as humanly possibly. The sad thing we discovered is that the vulnerability is a very commonly used module in the Traffic Exchange world. We will be in touch win the developer and the exchanges we know are effected as well.

Within short you will receive an email with a new password for you logins. Once you receive this password, please log in to your account and verify that all is good. This includes your websites etc. Any pending cash commissions will be cancelled for security reasons. This will allow you to verify your cashout details and request a new cashout. More info will come as available.
